Why translation becomes a trap

Train with monolingual prompts
On flashcards, use images, definitions in the target language, or situation prompts instead of always using your native language on the front. Mix card directions so you cannot rely on one bridge.
Shadow short audio without pausing to translate
Repeat rhythm and chunks. Meaning can be approximate at first. Your mouth learns sequences that bypass word-by-word assembly.
