Vocabulary for Job Interviews in Another Language
Interview language is predictable if you prepare it. Build a focused deck for strengths, stories, and questions so you are not inventing professional vocabulary under pressure.
Job interviews punish hesitation. You need polished stories and the exact verbs that describe your work. Generic tourist vocabulary will not save you. Build an interview pack on purpose.
Map the interview into word jobs
Greeting and small talk. "Tell me about yourself." Strengths and weaknesses. Project stories. Questions for them. Closing. Each section gets its own mini list.
Collect verbs that carry professional meaning
Led, shipped, improved, collaborated, measured, designed, resolved. Learn them inside sentences about your real experience, not as abstract definitions.
Prepare three stories with reusable frames
Situation, task, action, result. Memorize connective tissue: "The challenge was," "I decided to," "The result was." Frames reduce invention under stress.
Practice aloud with voice tools
