An 8-Week Summer Vocabulary Challenge You Can Finish

Summer is when new decks get created and abandoned. A challenge works when it is short, concrete, and review-first. Eight weeks is long enough to matter and short enough to see the ending.

The rules

Review due cards every day you can. Add at most 8-12 new words on add days. Complete at least 80 percent of review days. Finish with a recorded one-minute speech using recent vocabulary.

Missed days are replaced, not confessed. No guilt theater.

Week-by-week focus

Weeks 1-2: survival and daily life. Weeks 3-4: verbs and questions. Weeks 5-6: one theme (food, work, or travel). Weeks 7-8: collocations and a final speaking clip.

Thematic focus prevents eight weeks of random nouns.
